Robots for Nuclear Power Plants

Teledyne FLIR logo

Curtiss-Wright has partnered with Teledyne FLIR Defense to provide unmanned aerial systems, unmanned ground systems, and integrated solutions to customers that require specialized platforms for remote data collection, inspections, access to hazardous areas or precision manipulations. Unmanned systems are a vital tool for performing tasks in challenging conditions without compromising safety.

Teledyne FLIR Defense has direct experience in the nuclear market, with a mature installed base of ground robotics in several commercial nuclear power plants, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sites, and international projects. They have delivered more than 20,000 unmanned platforms to over 50 countries. As the largest robot producer in the world, Teledyne FLIR Defense offers a suite of robots which can enter radiation control areas and perform specialized monitoring and inspections including:

  • Thermal and visual inspection
  • Video and audio recording of inspections
  • In-service inspections
  • Leak detection
  • Meter and gauge reading verifications
  • Radiation monitoring, surveys and measurements
  • And many other applications, contact us for details

Curtiss-Wright can provide the following unmanned systems support:

  • Mission preparation
  • Supply unmanned ground systems
  • Platform maintenance and upgrades
  • Conduct inspections
  • Documentation/reporting
